It was so nice sitting out back this morning. As usual it was early enough that no one else in the world was up yet, so I had the awakening morning all to myself. I could hear the distant rumble of a thunder storm off in distance. As I sat, and focused on the trees and quiet bird sounds, I realized that all the trees were stirring and blowing gently with the storm that was slowly blowing in. A moment before, when my mind was going a mile a minute, I wasn't even aware the leaves were blowing. I realized my mind had to become more still to even see the gentle grace around me. The lesson for me became the importance of letting my mind become more still than my surroundings.

  1. Sometimes it's so difficult to let go of our 'stuff' for a moment and listen. But when we do...ahhh the things we hear/see/smell/notice! What a wonderful way for you to start the day!
